Established on March 10th, 2014, at the ICSA Centre in Chennai, The South India NGOs Network (TSINN) was spearheaded by Mr. Hirsh Cashden, then Chair of Tzedek, a UK Charity. Initially comprising eight NGOs, the network was formally registered under the Indian Trust Act in Chennai. In 2018, its name was changed to The South India Neighbourhood Network (TSINN).
Presently, TSINN boasts 15 member NGOs operating across Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, spanning over 20 districts. Originally formed to facilitate the exchange of insights among NGOs funded by Tzedek, United Kingdom, the network has evolved over the past decade. It has conducted 24 meetings across various regions of India, transitioning from relying on Tzedek’s support for meeting expenses to self-sustenance through member contributions.
At the helm of TSINN’s leadership are Mr. P. Vedachalam, Secretary and Program Director of Community Action for Rural Development, Pudukkottai, serving as President; Mr. S. Bashkar, Managing Trustee of SAVE Trust, Chennai, as Secretary; and Mr. David Immanuvel, Secretary of CHDC, Cuddappah, as Treasurer.
