Profile
Women for Women Society (WFW) is an all-women organization founded in 1999 with the guiding principle: “An organization of women, for women, and by women.”
Founders:
- Mrs. N. Santhy – Handicraft Worker
- Mrs. C. Anuradha – Teacher
- Mrs.Ananthy – Teacher
WFW focuses on empowering women by conducting programs and activities that raise awareness and improve the income levels of women, thereby enhancing the well-being of their families.
Aim
To empower people by creating awareness, developing skills, and enhancing income levels. We focus on capacity building in areas related to health, social and economic development, environmental issues, and the participation and empowerment of women in all aspects of life through community organization.
Mission
To see the emergence of empowered village communities and individuals—both men and women—who possess self-determination, self-reliance, and self-confidence.
Structure
WFW is registered under the Tamil Nadu Government Societies’ Registration Act.
The General Body serves as the apex body of the society, meeting annually to set broad guidelines for the organization’s functioning. The Executive Committee manages the society’s affairs, following the guidelines established by the General Body. An Advisory Committee of technical experts guides the Executive Committee on specific issues, while volunteers from project-area villages liaise between the organizers and the people.
